Suggest a charity you think belongs in this directory. If you know a local nonprofit doing real, verifiable work near you, tell us about it below and we’ll take a look before adding it.
We keep this directory small and carefully reviewed, so every suggestion goes through a quick check before it’s published.
What happens after you suggest a charity
Once you submit the form, we take a look at the charity you’ve suggested before it goes anywhere near the live directory. That review is what keeps this a directory people can trust, rather than just a list of names.
First, we check that the organization is real and active: does it have its own website, a working donation page, and some way to verify what it actually does? A charity with no online presence beyond a social media page is hard for us to vouch for, so we may reach out to you or to the charity directly for more detail.
Next, we look at how clearly the charity explains its mission and what it does with donations. We’re not auditing anyone’s finances, but a charity that’s transparent about its work makes it much easier for the people visiting this site to decide whether to give.
If everything checks out, we’ll add a card for the charity on the Browse Charities page, linking straight to its own donation page. We never collect donations ourselves and we never ask the charities we list for a fee to be included — this directory only exists to point people toward causes worth supporting.
If we can’t verify a suggestion right away, we’ll keep it on file and may follow up using the email address you provide. There’s no guarantee every suggestion gets added — we’d rather keep the list small and trustworthy than add every charity that’s suggested — but we do look at each one.
What makes a good charity suggestion
The strongest suggestions are charities that are local, active, and easy to verify. A local connection matters to us — this directory is built around causes near the people browsing it, not national organizations that already have plenty of visibility.
It also helps if you can tell us specifically why the charity deserves a spot: what problem it addresses, who it serves, and anything you’ve personally seen or experienced that speaks to its impact. A short, specific note is far more useful to us than a generic “they do good work.”
You don’t need to be affiliated with the charity to suggest it — donors, volunteers, and neighbors are often in a better position to vouch for a local charity than the charity itself.
If you want to do your own research before suggesting a charity, tools like Candid’s nonprofit lookup are a good starting point for checking registration status and financial filings before you fill out the form below.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a fee to suggest a charity? No. Suggesting a charity is completely free, and we never charge charities to be listed either. This directory makes money from nothing — it exists purely to connect donors with causes worth supporting.
How long does it take to hear back? It depends on how quickly we can verify the charity, but most suggestions are reviewed within a couple of weeks. If we add the charity, you’ll be able to find it on the Browse Charities page; if we need more information first, we’ll follow up at the email address you gave us.
Can I suggest more than one charity? Yes — if you know several local charities worth adding, feel free to submit the form again for each one so we can review them individually.
Ready to suggest a charity? Scroll back up and fill out the short form above — it only takes a couple of minutes, and every submission gets a real look before we decide whether it belongs in the directory.
